3.1.3. Installation of the mechanism of gas distribution

GENERAL INFORMATION

Cores of fixing of pulleys of a cam-shaft and crankshaft (1.8 and 2.0 liters engines)

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On all models combine openings in pulleys of distributive and cranked shaft. Openings are used to fix the crankshaft and a cam-shaft and to prevent impact of pistons about the valve at installation on the former place of a gear belt or a head of the block of cylinders. Fixing of pulleys is made by installation in the combined openings of the corresponding cores.
2. Remove a casing of a gear belt.
3. Lift a forward part of the car and remove the right wheel.
4. For access to a bolt of fastening of a pulley on the crankshaft remove a sheeting from a wing. The crankshaft can be rotated only in the direction of its working rotation.
Models 1.6 liters
5. Turn the crankshaft before combination of an opening in a cam-shaft pulley with an opening in a head of the block of cylinders. Openings are combined when the opening of a pulley of a cam-shaft is in a position of 8 hours.
6. Establish a core with a diameter of 8 mm in a cam-shaft pulley opening (it is specified by an arrow). At the same time the opening in a pulley of the crankshaft has to be combined with an opening in the block of cylinders of the engine into which it is also necessary to insert a core with a diameter of 8 mm. Perhaps, for installation of a core in a pulley of the crankshaft it is necessary to tighten the crankshaft a little.
7. As soon as the pulley of the crankshaft is recorded by a core, establish a core with a diameter of 9,5 mm in a cam-shaft pulley opening.
8. The crankshaft and a cam-shaft are fixed in the situation preventing their rotation now.
Models with an engine displacement of 1.8 and 2.0 liters
9. Turn a crankshaft pulley before combination of openings in pulleys of cam-shafts with the corresponding openings in a head of the block of cylinders. Openings are combined when an opening of a pulley of a cam-shaft of inlet valves are in a position of 5 hours, and an opening of a pulley of a cam-shaft of final valves – in a position of 7 hours if to look on the right side of the engine.
10. After combination of openings of pulleys of cam-shafts insert a core or a bolt with a diameter of 6 mm into a pulley of the crankshaft. In some engines diameters of openings can be changed therefore it is necessary to pick up a core of such diameter that it densely entered an opening.
11. After fixing of the crankshaft a core record pulleys of cam-shafts the corresponding cores (see rice. Cores of fixing of pulleys of a cam-shaft and crankshaft (1.8 and 2.0 liters engines).
12. After installation of cores the crankshaft and a cam-shaft are fixed from a provorachivaniye.
