Prevention
 At installation of the thermostat it is necessary to establish a new sealing ring.
Removal
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Disconnect the negative plug of the accumulator. |
|
2. Merge cooling liquid from the cooling system. On the 2.1 liters turbodiesel engines the casing of the thermostat is established from the right back side of the block of cylinders, and for access to the thermostat it is necessary to lift a forward part of the car. On all other models the thermostat casing (it is specified by an arrow) is installed on the left forward side of a head of the block of cylinders. |
| 3. If necessary take an electrical wiring and hoses from brackets of fastening and take them aside from a thermostat casing. |
| 4. Disconnect a cooling system hose from a thermostat casing. |
| 5. Unscrew bolts of fastening and uncover a thermostat casing. |
| 6. Take the thermostat from a casing. |

Check
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. A rough inspection of the thermostat can be carried out, having suspended it on a thread in the glass vessel filled with water and heating water to boiling. When boiling water the thermostat has to open. Otherwise replace it. |
| 2. Temperature of opening of the thermostat is applied on the thermostat. |
| 3. The thermostat which is not closed when cooling water is also subject to replacement. |

Installation

Installation is made in the sequence of the return to removal, considering the next moments:
– always install new consolidation (a photo at the left – installation of a new sealing ring on the thermostat, a photo on the right – installation of the thermostat in a casing);
– on models where the hose of cooling liquid is attached to a thermostat casing by connection with a zashchelkivaniye, it is necessary to replace ring consolidation in a connector;
– fill up the cooling system. |
