GENERAL INFORMATION

The hydraulic drive of switching off of coupling on the 2.1 liters diesel engines

Coupling consists of a clutch plate, the leading part of coupling with a press disk and the switching off mechanism.

The switching off mechanism – mechanical is also operated a self-regulating cable. On cars with the 2.1 liters engine the drive of coupling is carried out by special hydraulic system. The clutch plate is established between a flywheel and a press clutch plate and moves on vents of a main shaft of the transmission.

The leading knot of coupling is screwed by bolts on a flywheel. The torque during the operation of the engine is transmitted from the crankshaft through a flywheel and a clutch plate which is clamped between a flywheel and a press disk, to a main shaft of the transmission.

To disconnect the engine from the transmission, it is necessary to take away press a disk from a clutch plate. On the Peugeot cars use two various mechanisms of switching off of coupling. The first – usual type where the release bearing is installed on primary to a transmission shaft. The second type where the release bearing – the integral part of the leading knot of coupling, is established on cars with a working volume of 2.0 liters and all diesel engines.

On cars with the ordinary mechanism of switching off of coupling management of coupling is made by a cable. When pressing a coupling pedal the cable moves and turns a fork of switching off of coupling for the top end of a fork. A fork, turning, squeezes springs of press type and takes away press a disk from a clutch plate.

On cars with the 2.0 liters petrol engines and diesel engines 2.1 liters the cable of coupling influences a coupling switching off fork which moves the release bearing and influences the springs located on perimeter of a press disk.

On cars with the 2.1 liters diesel engines the pedal of coupling is connected with the main cylinder of coupling by a pusher.

The main cylinder of coupling is installed on a partition of a motor compartment, and the working cylinder – on a coupling case. The tank for liquid is installed separately on a partition of a motor compartment and connected by a hose to the main cylinder.

Pressing of a pedal of coupling moves the piston in the main cylinder and compresses liquid which on the pipeline moves to the working cylinder. Under pressure the piston of the working cylinder moves and puts a coupling switching off fork in action. The fork of switching off of coupling moves the release bearing which influences a spring of a release disk and takes away a release disk from a clutch plate.

The main cylinder, tank and the working cylinder represent tight knot. In this system replenishment of liquid in a tank is not required. In the presence of leaks from a hydraulic control system of coupling all knot is subject to replacement. On all cars regulation of coupling happens automatically.
