Prevention
 Depending on model and the installed equipment, access to an auxiliary driving belt can be extremely limited. If the bigger working space is required, it is necessary to remove the electronic control device of ignition / system of injection of fuel (ECU).
On models with manual adjustment of a tension of a driving Peugeot belt recommends use of the special electronic tool (SEEM C105. 5) for exact installation of a tension of a driving belt. If this tool is inaccessible, approximate installation can be reached, using the method described below. When using an approximate method of a tension of a belt the tension has to be checked in the shortest possible time with use of the electronic tool.
On the models equipped with a maple belt, the tension is regulated manually on models without conditioner and automatically – on models with the conditioner.
Check of a condition of an auxiliary driving belt

| 1. Tighten the emergency brake and lift a forward part of the car. |
| 2. Remove the right forward wheel. |
| 3. Unscrew screws, disconnect brackets and remove a protective arch from under the right forward wing for receiving access to a bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft. If necessary remove a forward mudguard. |
| 4. Using the face key with the extender established on a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the crankshaft, turning the crankshaft, investigate a condition of a belt on existence of cracks, stratifications and oiling. If necessary replace a belt. |
| 5. If the condition of a belt is satisfactory, then on models without conditioner check a belt tension. |

Removal, installation and adjustment of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt (model without conditioner)

| 2. Tighten the emergency brake and lift a forward part of the car. |
| 3. Remove the right forward wheel. |
| 4. Unscrew screws, disconnect brackets and remove a protective arch from under the right forward wing for receiving access to a bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft. If necessary remove a forward mudguard. |
| 5. Unscrew two bolts (or one) fixings of the mechanism of a tension. (see rice. | 6. Rotating an adjusting bolt, move a tension mechanism pulley from a driving belt before its full easing. |

7. To put on a driving belt pulleys in the following order:
– pump of the amplifier of steering;
– crankshaft;
– generator;
– bypass pulley (models of 2.0 liters):
– tension pulley. |
| 8. Check that the belt is correctly established on pulleys without twistings. Remove sagging of a belt, turning an adjusting bolt of a tension of a belt. |

| 9. At an insufficient tension the belt will slip on pulleys and to publish peep. At excess of a tension of a belt bearings of the generator of alternating current can fail. |
| 10. The belt has to be tense so that when pressing by a hand thumb on a long branch of a belt the deflection made about 5.0 mm. |
| 11. To adjust a tension unscrew two bolts (or one) fixings of the mechanism of a tension and, rotating an adjusting bolt, move a tension mechanism pulley to a driving belt. After adjustment of a tension of a belt four times turn the crankshaft and repeatedly to a preverta a belt tension. |
| 12. After the tension of a belt is adjusted, tighten a bolt of fixing of the mechanism of a tension. Connect a negative wire to the accumulator. |
| 13. Establish a wheel arch under the aegis, a mudguard, a wheel and lower the car. |

Removal, installation and adjustment of a tension of an auxiliary driving belt (model with the conditioner)

| 1. Remove a negative wire from the accumulator. Tighten the emergency brake and lift a forward part of the car. Remove the right forward wheel. Unscrew screws, disconnect brackets and remove a protective arch from under the right forward wing for receiving access to a bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft. If necessary, remove a forward mudguard. |
| 2. Move a tension mechanism pulley from a driving belt, using the key of square section established in an automatic arm of the mechanism of a tension (see rice. Elements of regulation of a tension of an auxiliary maple belt (model with the air conditioner)). As soon as the mechanism of a tension is weakened, record this situation, inserting the 4.0th mm a face key into an opening. Take off a driving belt from all pulleys, noting the direction of its rotation. |

3. To put on a driving belt on pulleys in the following order:
– tension mechanism pulley;
– crankshaft;
– conditioner compressor;
– pump of the amplifier of steering;
– bypass pulley;
– generator of alternating current. |
| 4. If necessary, tighten bolts of fixing of the automatic mechanism of a tension. |
| 5. Check that the belt is correctly established on pulleys without twistings. Release the tension mechanism, having removed a key of square section. The spring of the mechanism of a tension will provide the correct tension of a belt. Connect a negative wire to the accumulator. |
| 6. Establish a wheel arch under the aegis, a mudguard, a wheel and lower the car. |
